Basically, what I am trying t work out is whether it would help having all GLONGOO’s categorised rather than relying on keywords.

The main reason we ditched the category idea was to keep the system open so that in an infinite world there are an infinite number of categories and thus we could not possibly list all the ones that someone might need. The cynical people out there may be shouting out “Yeah, but how many times will you come across the need for any more categories than what eBay has?”

Well, in truth probably rarely and for the more obscure categories we could just send them into to the ‘Other’ category. This seems somewhat alien to the idea of GLONGOO though.

Another reason for using a keyword string is that we force people to think about what they are advertising. This should in principle keep the adverts relevant and clean. Also the ability for GLONGOO’s to cross link with each other rather than just and parent / child relationship is very powerful.

The basis of most modern social networking systems these days is focused on relationships.

Twitter for one uses the parent / child model in that you follow someone or they can follow you.

Facebook is the same.

GLONGOO is different though. By not having categories we do not limit the relationships. All GLONGOO’s that share a common word are inherent members of the same group. They share the same DNA. This means that GLONGOO creates its own relationship web without the need for human request and confirmation. It automatically creates the relationship for you.

Let me know what you think?

Glongoo is the coming together of those who have and those that want. Glongoo is a very simple concept that allows matching as a two-way process. For example. The normal way for people to sell goods is through the seller advertising or cold calling. While this medium works it can be very expensive and time consuming. What GLONGOO aims to do is to reverse this process so that a number of buyers are already sourced before you even create a product.

Users of GLONOO can advertise for things that they want be it everyday objects such as cars, computers, clothes. Or they could advertise that they want a service such as a cleaner. They could also advertise that they want a relationship of soe kind such as a personal relationship or one where skills such as the building of a community are needed.

Because the scope of GLONGOO is not fixed the range of possibilities are endless. The connection of two parties for any reason in both directions makes the GLONGOO system highly valuable. It opens the door to a new form of interaction where the seller can tune in to the buyers exact needs.
